September was a busy month for Uta. She raced four times across three meets, kept up a full training schedule, and logged more distance than she had in August.
Here is what the numbers from her training log say about how the month actually went.
| Distance | 108.4 km |
|---|---|
| Days run | 20 days |
| Rest days | 9 days |
| Easy : hard | 45 : 55 |
| vs 2026-08 | +21.4 km / +1 days |
| Races | 4 |
What the training looked like: the mix of sessions and how the weeks went
Uta trained 20 days in September and rested 9, covering 108.4km in total - an average of 5.4km on the days she ran. That is up from 87km in August, with one extra training day on top.
The week-by-week numbers show real variation rather than a steady climb: 22.8km in the first week, down to 16.8km in the second, up to a peak of 34.9km in the third week (9/14-9/20), then back down to 22.4km, and a partial final week of 11.5km as September ended. Her longest single session was an 8.5km jog on September 19th, right in the middle of that peak week.
Session types were split between 11 jogs, 8 interval sessions, and 4 race days. That is a lot of interval work for one month, and it lines up with the heavier of the two training weeks.
Easy vs hard: what the split says about the month
Easy running made up 45% of the month, with the remaining 55% counted as hard - intervals and races together. That is a month tipped toward the harder end, which makes sense given she raced four times and ran eight interval sessions in four weeks.
For a kid this age, a hard-heavy month isn't necessarily a problem on its own, but it's worth watching if it continues. The easy jogs - 11 of them - were still the single largest category of session by count, even if they didn't add up to half her total effort.
What this split doesn't tell us is how she felt on any given day. It's just a count of session types, not a measure of how hard those sessions actually were for her.
Races and marks, including any personal bests
Uta raced four times in September. On September 5th she ran 800m at the Challenge Trial in Shirakobato, a local meet, finishing in 2:49.13.
On September 22nd she competed at Kids Colosseum, a Kanto-region track meet, in two events on the same day: the 800m in 2:51.55, and the javelin ball throw at 27m53cm.
The next day, September 23rd, she ran a 1km time trial at a Tochigi distance meet, finishing in 3:40.18.
No personal bests were recorded this month. Four races in three weeks is a lot for a young runner, and the times sit close together rather than showing a clear trend either way.
Looking at next month - only what the numbers support
September's total of 108.4km is the highest monthly figure in this data, a jump of 21.4km over August. If that pace of increase continues, it's worth keeping an eye on the easy/hard balance rather than pushing volume further on its own.
The uneven weekly totals - a low of 11.5km and a high of 34.9km within the same month - suggest her training load varies a lot week to week, partly because of race scheduling. With four races already behind her this month, October may simply come down to how much racing is on the calendar again.
Nothing in this month's numbers points to a particular change in training type - just a note to watch whether the hard-session share stays above half, and whether four races in three weeks becomes a regular pattern or stays a one-off.
September was Uta's biggest month on record by distance, and her busiest by races. No new personal bests, but four solid outings and a training log that shows she's putting in the work.
We'll see what October's numbers say.
